Are you interested in finding out what each candidate is really thinking? Do you want the chance to hear it for yourself instead of by rumor?
Attend the Public Forum at 6:30 pm on April 7 at St. Stephens Church.
From how things are looking, it will be more interesting than anything on TV.

Hardeeville's Form of Government
Our form of government was changed a few years back to a City Manager form of government. One of the biggest supporters of this was now Mayoral Candidate Bill Horton. Now his platform is one that has many scratching their heads. He is telling everyone that he will change the government back???? HUH?
The only way to change it back is by a petition done by the voters to get it back on the ballot. So he CAN'T Change it back, do not let him fool you!!!

3,000 jobs in jeopardy!
This is from the blog at Hardeeville Today.
I was just watching the council meeting on TV. What I saw has left me stunned.
Bill Horton, the council member that is running for mayor, actually voted AGAINST something that would bring THOUSANDS of jobs to this town. This development would give this town the shot in the arm that we need!!!
He said that it was because of the account that the money is being allocated to doesn't have to be voted on by council. OMG! He tried to make this sound like Mayor Cannon was trying to pull the wool over our eyes. He acted like he had revealed something that would start riots in the streets! Coucilman Brooks was correct to reveal that the discussion had already taken place and that the matter had been explained. If Mr. Felder's explaination of the account is correct, when the account is set up, the council would have the right to decide how the fund was set up. So, this "issue" that Councilman Horton brought up is NOT AN ISSUE!!!!
It is my guess that Councilman Horton is upset that this agreement came with stipulations on how this money can be spent. This is the SAME issue he had with the 2.4 million dollars that was allocated for the new Recreation facilities.
I watch the council meetings every chance I get. Here is what I see. Councilman Horton plays the same game that many of our National politicians play. He votes NO on every issue that brings money into the town on the first vote. Then he votes yes even though nothing has changed. He uses these opportunities to make himself look important and like he is doing something. What is he REALLY doing? NOTHING BUT SLOWING DOWN THE PROCESS!!!!
So, if you want a town that can get nothing accomplished go ahead and vote for Bill on election day.
